Sarim’s working life started long before it looked like a “career.” As a teenager he taught computer classes during school holidays and picked up whatever small jobs came his way, less for the money and more to stay busy and build experience. He interned in administrative operations at an academy, then again as an Assistant Editor, just to get a feel for how media actually gets made. Somewhere in the middle of all that he even founded a small venture, New Era Communication, and for a stretch worked as a stitching machine operator — not because any of it fit a grand plan, but because Sarim has always believed in trying things rather than theorizing about them.

The real turning point came at Amir Brothers, where he spent seven years as an Assistant Accountant. It was hands-on, unglamorous work — but it’s where his accounting instincts were forged, and it gave him a technical grounding he still leans on today.

From there his path took a creative turn at Minhaj TV, where he worked as Post-Production Manager and got a front-row seat to how media is built at scale. He learned how a broadcast-quality program actually comes together behind the scenes — the editing pipelines, the deadlines, the coordination between teams — and that discipline still shapes how he approaches his own creative projects today, beyond just having good ideas.

That’s also where his YouTube channel began to take shape. He started putting out religious, social, and educational programs, and over time the channel grew enough to bring in some income — but Sarim has always kept it as a passion project rather than a full-time pursuit, something he builds around his day job rather than instead of it.

Today, Sarim serves as Director of Operations at the Ayesha Chundrigar Foundation, a role he grew into after joining as an Accounts Officer and earning the promotion in July 2024. It’s the kind of position that lets him bring financial discipline and operational thinking to a mission he genuinely cares about. And outside of paid work, he’s been connected to Minhaj-ul-Quran since 2014 — the same year he took part in the Inqilab March, one of Pakistan’s largest political movements. Since then he has stayed on in an organizational capacity, taking on volunteer responsibilities and organizing welfare campaigns, educational seminars, and youth empowerment initiatives, entirely on a voluntary basis.

Sarim’s YouTube channel is where he blends education, entertainment, and awareness into one thing. Some episodes explore religious, political, or social issues; others are just meant to make people laugh; a few dig into technology and knowledge-sharing, or lean into poetry and storytelling. What ties it together is an attempt to advocate for the peaceful essence of religion and spark real conversation about peace, justice, and cultural appreciation.

Each program carries its own purpose — some were built to educate, some to entertain, some purely to start a conversation that Sarim felt wasn’t happening anywhere else. Programs he has created and hosted include Rah e Ishq (Path of Love), Tolo, Phir Bolo (Come, Then Speak), Khoj (Search), Daastan e Qalb (Tales of the Heart), E-Knowledge, Knowledge Verse, and the lighter-hearted Bloopers.

Cricket has been part of Sarim’s life since 2002, when he started playing tape-ball at age ten. He played as an all-rounder, comfortable with both bat and ball, and by 2004 he had founded and captained the Royal Cricket Team, which grew into the more formal Royal Cricket Club and ran under his leadership until 2017, when academic and professional commitments made it time to close that chapter. He didn’t stop playing — by the end of that year he had moved into hard-ball, more competitive cricket, and he still plays regularly.

Wanderlust, Rooted in Faith

Sarim is drawn to mountains and finds real peace — sukoon-e-dil — near rivers and seashores. He has traveled through Southern and Northern Pakistan so far, and hopes to see much more of the world’s natural landscapes. Photography and videography aren’t just hobbies for him; they’re how he holds on to those moments.

For Sarim, travel isn’t separate from his faith — it’s part of the reason behind it. He treats this verse less as a suggestion and more as an instruction: that exploring the world and reflecting on it are meant to go together, not as two separate hobbies.
